[Properties] This product is a kind of white to light yellow powder.

[Pharmacological action] Pharmacodynamics Neomycin is an antibacterial drug derived from hydrogen glycoside rice. Its antibacterial spectrum is similar to that of kanamycin. It has strong antibacterial effect on most gram-negative bacteria, such as Escherichia coli, Proteus, Salmonella and Pasteurella multocida, and is also sensitive to Staphylococcus aureus. Pseudomonas aeruginosa, gram-positive bacteria (except Staphylococcus aureus), Rickettsia, anaerobes and fungi are resistant to this product.

Pharmacokinetics Neomycin is rarely absorbed after oral administration and local application. After oral administration, only 3% of the total amount of neomycin is excreted from urine, and most of it is excreted from feces without change. Intestinal mucosa inflammation or ulcers can increase absorption. The drug is absorbed quickly after injection, and its internal process is similar to that of kanamycin.
